The Dialogue aims to engage youth in public affairs, encourage leadership and innovation, and promote meaningful participation of young people in nation-building.
“The ignited mind of the youth is the most powerful resource on the earth, under the earth and above the earth.” — Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam
We have the world’s largest youth population — 65 percent of India’s population is below the age of 35.

You are the leaders of tomorrow, but more importantly, you are the citizens of today. Your actions, choices and awareness now shape the future of our nation — आप ही वह ऊर्जा हैं, आप ही वह शक्ति हैं, जो आने वाले भारत की दिशा तय करेगी।
Leadership is not just about titles — it is about responsibility, vision, and the courage to make a difference today.
The true strength of democracy lies in the awareness and vigilance of its youth.

The most important aspect of today’s Yuva Sansad is dialogue. Parliament is not just about speaking — it is about exchanging ideas, listening, understanding, and working together to find solutions. True leadership lies not in criticising, but in listening and comprehending, because only when we understand can we make the right decisions.
The Constitution of India begins with “We, the people of India”. It begins with you, it begins with us… it begins with every citizen. Democratic accountability flows from this first line. You are not a subject of the Indian state. You are its author.
Our nation needs youth who don’t just point out problems, but actively contribute to solutions; who don’t just count challenges, but become part of the change themselves. Let us learn to listen, understand and act — because that is how we build a stronger, better India.

Article 51A(j) asks every citizen: “It shall be the duty of every citizen of India to strive towards excellence in all spheres of individual and collective activity so that the nation constantly rises to higher levels of endeavour and achievement.”
That is, to strive for excellence not just for ourselves, but so that the nation rises. Your personal ambition and national purpose are not in conflict.
India’s youth leadership tradition was built here, in our soil, by young people who gave everything for our country and protected the Constitution.
Bhagat Singh wrote extensively about what kind of India should follow independence. His famous words — “They may kill me, but they cannot kill my ideas” — were a statement about the permanence of democratic ideals over the temporary nature of power.
The JP Movement — the students who shook the nation — which ultimately led to the end of the Emergency and the restoration of Indian democracy in 1977, was led almost entirely by people in their twenties. They had no social media, no platforms, no viral campaigns. They had conviction — and they used it to protect the Constitution at a moment when it was most under threat.

Dr. B.R. Ambedkar said, more than 75 years ago: “On 26th January 1950, India will be an independent country. What would happen to her independence? Will she maintain her independence or will she lose it again?… If the people of India… continue to nurture democracy not merely in form but also in fact, then India will become one of the greatest nations of the world… Let us resolve to make this Constitution work.”
